From the President’s Desk

Greetings everyone!

We’re “winding down” here rapidly approaching  TCBRA’s TWENTIETH YEAR with a Home Show! Jim Alo, our Show Chairman is working day and night on filling up the space provided by TC3 at their new Field House Facility. I’m hearing the ads on the radio as I write this letter, so we’re getting our exposure needed to make this a success! For those of you that have contemplated on whether to enter or not, Success and Exposure is what it’s all about! This gives us as vendors a chance to “Show our Stuff” and “Talk the Talk” with potential clients, as meeting them face to face is… (as they say in the credit card commercials)…”Priceless”.

There is still time to sign up for some booths, but I wouldn’t wait too long to do so. Go to the “Home Show” tab, and click your way to a registration and contact information for Jim, to set up with us there at the Show! We’re once again taking part with the Chambers of Commerce for a “Business After Hours” Social on the opening night, and this is the time that we as Association Members can gather with the businesses in our area for some very special networking. It’ll be awesome!

In other news, with the help of our “webmaster” Marty, we now have not just a new look, but new capabilities as members for information that is key to running successful businesses. We now have a comprehensive data base on line that will be useful to visitors and to members searching for folks within the Association according to specialty categories. This new search engine within our own site will be able to take simple entries of one or more words, and find our members that fit the profile for anyone looking. From there, we now have the ability to send them to member’s websites at the click of a mouse! For members without sites, people visiting will still get all of the contact information that we have for each member searched. As an extra benefit for our Members, we can also provide them a website at a substantially reduced fee. How cool is that?!

Many hours have gone into setting this new website up, and no different than Remodeling and Construction, it’s a work in progress. Very soon we’ll be sending out to our members, an electronic form to fill out with words that best describe your business, and once received back here, the data will be entered and the search for particular members, both Builder and Associate, will be used to make our website one of the best around! I encourage anyone (member or not),  that has comments or ideas to please forward them to our comment page, because this website is about our Members, for our Members, and promoting our Members while being our portal to the Community.

Please plan on attending our Dinner Meeting coming up this Thursday, the 21st at the Dryden VFW to hear Bryan Miller from NYSBA talk about our State Associations involvement with the Work Force Program to promote the Skilled Trades with proper job training programs. Meet and greet is at 6:30 pm and Dinner cost is $20 member, and $25 for non-members. Let us know when Ruth from Michael May Construction calls you, how many from your Company will be in attendance so we can plan accordingly.

We’re here to work for you as Members, and to promote Proper Practices for Remodeling and New Construction, as the “Go-To People” within our Communities!

 Yours truly,

Kevin Mchon-CGB/CAPS
